The European Council stands in solidarity with Greece against Turkey's violations

On Thursday, the European Council declared its full solidarity with Greece and Cyprus in the face of Turkish violations.  And according to "Al Arabiya" network, in urgent news, European Council President Charles Michel said that today's summit will focus on the eastern Mediterranean and the relationship with Turkey, expressing solidarity with Greece and Cyprus.  Today, the European Union is holding a European summit devoted to international relations and discusses threats and tension in the Mediterranean between Turkey and two European countries, Greece and Cyprus.

Today, the 27 countries of the European Union intend to send a firm message to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and express their full solidarity with Greece and Cyprus. However, it is unlikely that it will harm the dialogue that Athens and Ankara promised to launch.

Earlier, the President of the European Council called on Ankara to show a "constructive" position in settling disputes with Athens and Nicosia regarding the demarcation of the borders of these areas, and in return, he suggested imposing sanctions on the Turkish regime.  Cyprus called on the European Union, on Thursday, to take a tougher stance against Turkey at the Brussels meeting, threatening to oppose the imposition of sanctions on Belarus.

On Thursday, Greece announced its support for Cyprus in the Mediterranean crisis by helping to resume talks on a solution to the Cyprus issue. This is in clear defiance of Turkey.
