The UAE welcomed the statement of Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed that the military operations in Tigray have ended, stressing that "constructive dialogue, within the framework of the state of institutions and the rule of law, is the only way to bring about lasting peace and restore stability to the country."
In a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation praised "the international and regional efforts aimed at establishing peace through constructive dialogue, especially the great role of the African Union, the United Nations and peace envoys, in their estimated efforts to ensure the stability of the region and the unity of Ethiopia."
The Ministry renewed its call on the Ethiopian parties to commit to calm the current conflict by peaceful means, and to return to dialogue
And considered that this is the way "for peace and stability in a way that preserves the country and meets the aspirations of the Ethiopian people to achieve security and prosperity."
The ministry also expressed "the UAE's full solidarity with the Ethiopian people," stressing "the great and organic link between issues of security and stability in our region and the Horn of Africa."
