UAE supports Tunisia by 500,000 COVID-19 doses


500,000 doses of the covid-19 vaccine to Tunisia as part of efforts to back the North African country’s vaccination campaign against the pandemic that has collapsed the health system.

Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and deputy supreme leader of the Gulf country’s armed forces, Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyane, made the pledge Sunday during a telephone conversation with Tunisian President Kais Saied, the presidential office said. The donation, according to the UAE, translates the Gulf country’s support and commitment to brotherly relations between the two countries, Tunisia according to the World Health Organization (WHO) is the worst affected country in the Arab world and Africa.


The ministry of health Saturday reported 6,592 new cases of contamination and 144 fatalities. The new figures bring the toll of contamination to 497,613 and the death count to 16,388.
