UAE, Argentina Presidents discuss furthering cooperation
UAE UAEPresident His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Argentina's leader Javier Milei have discussed enhancing and developing relations between their two countries.
In a phone call, the two leaders also reviewed other opportunities for cooperation, especially in the investment, economic, and trade sectors, among other fields fundamental to the development and progress of both.
The two countries were keen to establish the foundations that would enhance the flow of trade and investments between the two countries, which was translated through the conclusion of a number of agreements, such as the agreement to avoid double taxation and exchange tax information.
The total number of agreements and memorandums of understanding signed between the two friendly countries exceeded thirty agreements, covering the economic, consular and technological sectors.
The two sides signed memorandums of understanding on promoting trade and investment, technology exchange in the field of food safety and cooperation in the field of cybersecurity. In this regard, the joint declaration on the Two-Ocean Corridor was signed by the UAE and Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Chile, which would reflect on the development of the logistical infrastructure of the region in general and the Argentine provinces through which the corridor passes in particular, on the sidelines of the activities of the Conference of the Parties. In the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28),
which was hosted by the UAE at the end of last year, it achieved important achievements and succeeded in reaching the historic “UAE Agreement” between 198 parties, which includes an ambitious climate action plan and paves the way for a new phase of climate action.
