Infantino: Ronaldo Could Play in the Club World Cup

FIFA President Gianni Infantino revealed that there are ongoing negotiations that could see Cristiano Ronaldo participate in the Club World Cup, which will be held in the United States next month.

Al-Nassr, Ronaldo’s current club, did not qualify for the newly expanded tournament, which will feature 32 teams for the first time. However, Infantino appeared to hint at the possibility of Ronaldo transferring to another club that would allow him to take part in the restructured FIFA tournament.

Speaking with YouTuber "iShowSpeed," Infantino said: "Ronaldo might play with one of the teams in the Club World Cup. There are discussions."

He added: "Yes, Ronaldo might play in the Club World Cup. There are negotiations with some clubs. Who knows—maybe a club is watching and interested in signing Ronaldo for the tournament."

FIFA has introduced an additional transfer window from June 1 to June 10 to allow participating clubs to complete deals in time for the tournament, which will be held in the U.S. from June 14 to July 13.

Ronaldo, a five-time Ballon d’Or winner, joined Al-Nassr in 2022 after leaving Manchester United mid-season.
