 UAE President: The UAE is Keen to Strengthen Bridges of Communication with Latin America

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Santiago Peña, President of the Republic of Paraguay, discussed various aspects of cooperation and joint work yesterday, particularly in the fields of development, economy, trade, renewable energy, food security, climate action, and other vital areas that support the countries’ shared visions and aspirations for sustainable development and prosperity.

This came during His Highness’s reception of the President of Paraguay and his accompanying delegation at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi, as part of an official visit to the UAE.

The two leaders also reviewed a number of issues of mutual interest and exchanged views, reaffirming their keenness to advance bilateral relations and explore diverse opportunities to open new horizons for cooperation that serve their common interests.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan emphasized the UAE’s commitment to continuing the diversification of its economic and development partnerships, as well as enhancing constructive communication and cooperation with Latin American countries, particularly the Republic of Paraguay. This approach stems from the UAE’s policy of pursuing common interests and cooperation to achieve development and prosperity for all nations.

The two leaders also discussed regional and international developments, particularly recent events in the Middle East, stressing the need to intensify efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and across the globe.

For his part, President Santiago Peña expressed his gratitude to His Highness for the warm reception he received during his visit. He also expressed admiration for the UAE’s comprehensive civilizational progress and the wise leadership’s vision in advancing the nation’s development journey.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Diab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Development and Martyrs’ Families Affairs; His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Mohamed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to the UAE President; Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for National Security; Reem bint Ebrahim Al Hashimy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi, Minister of Justice; Dr. Ahmed Mubarak Al Mazrouei, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Office and Head of the President’s Office for Strategic Affairs; Faisal Abdulaziz Al Bannai, Advisor to the UAE President on Strategic Research and Advanced Technology; Dr. Al Saghira Al Wabarani Al Ahbabi, UAE Ambassador to Paraguay; along with several senior officials and members of the delegation accompanying the visiting president.
