Abdullah bin Zayed Meets with U.S. Secretary of State to Discuss Strategic Relations and Regional Developments

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with H.E. Marco Rubio, U.S. Secretary of State, during an official working visit to Washington, D.C.

H.E. Secretary Rubio welcomed H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and his accompanying delegation. During their meeting at the U.S. Department of State, the two sides discussed the strategic relations between the UAE and the United States and ways to enhance them in a manner that serves their mutual interests.

The ministers reviewed avenues of bilateral cooperation across various development sectors, particularly economic, commercial, scientific, advanced technology, and artificial intelligence.

They also addressed the state visit of H.E. Donald Trump, President of the United States, to the United Arab Emirates in May, and the important outcomes it produced, reflecting the depth of the relationship between the two countries and their shared commitment to advancing bilateral cooperation and partnership across all fields.

During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan praised the solid strategic relations between the UAE and the U.S., affirming that the United States is a key strategic ally of the UAE.

He expressed the UAE’s eagerness to continue working closely to strengthen this distinguished relationship, achieving further progress and prosperity for both nations, and contributing to sustainable development and well-being for their peoples.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah and Secretary Rubio also discussed the latest regional developments.

H.H. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE’s commitment to working with the United States and all regional and international partners to support peace and stability in the region and globally, and to promote the values of coexistence and human fraternity within societies.

The meeting was attended by H.E. Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States; H.E. Lana Zaki Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs; H.E. Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister for Economic and Trade Affairs; and H.E. Dr. Maha Taysir Barakat, Assistant Minister for Medical and Life Sciences Affairs.
