 UAE Reaffirms Support for IAEA’s Pivotal Role in Peaceful Nuclear Development

In a recent phone call, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Vice President of the UAE, reaffirmed the United Arab Emirates' strong support for the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its vital role in advancing the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

During the call with IAEA Director General H.E. Rafael Grossi, Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the UAE’s longstanding cooperation with the Agency and the shared commitment to leveraging nuclear technology for sustainable development. He emphasized that the UAE remains fully committed to upholding the highest international standards of nuclear safety, security, and non-proliferation.

His Highness noted the UAE’s pride in its partnership with the IAEA, which has played a key role in the development of the UAE’s peaceful nuclear energy program. The program, built in line with the most rigorous international guidelines, reflects the country’s dedication to transparency, operational excellence, and responsible energy innovation.

The two officials also discussed regional developments and exchanged views on current global issues, further underlining the importance of multilateral cooperation in addressing today’s challenges.
