On an individual level, Sadio Mane continued to write his name in the tournament's records, raising his tally to 9 assists, making him the player with the most assists in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations since the 2006 edition, surpassing Ivorian Yaya Toure by two assists.

The Saudi Al-Nassr star also boosted his record by starting in 21 consecutive matches with his national team in the continental finals, the best record for a player with a national team in the tournament since Cameroonian Samuel Eto’o, who played 27 matches between 2000 and 2010.

Ibrahim Mbaye completed Senegal's hat-trick, writing his name in the annals of history, after becoming, at the age of 17 years and 344 days, the youngest player to score for his country in the history of its participation in the Africa Cup of Nations.

Mbaye's achievement did not stop there, as he set another remarkable record, becoming the youngest player to score a goal in the current edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, and the youngest since Gabon's Sheva N'Zigou, who scored in January 2000 against South Africa, at the age of 16 years and 91 days, confirming the rising talent's early presence on the continental scene.

SadioMane, the star of Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr, spoke about Senegal’s qualification for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations after their victory over Sudan, saying, “We played a strong match, despite the surprise we suffered with an early goal, which was a punishment for us.” He added that the team was able to quickly regain its balance and impose its control over the course of the match until it secured the victory and qualified for the next round.

The Senegalese star concluded, "It's a good win. We qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. The next match won't be easy; all matches in the Africa Cup of Nations are difficult and require serious preparation."

It is worth noting that the Senegalese national team will face Mali in the quarter-finals of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations currently being held in Morocco, which concludes on January 18.
