Turkey's aggressiveness doesn’t end

The President of Cyprus confirmed that Turkey’s aggression had led to tension and an "explosive" situation in the Mediterranean.

And US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced the temporary lifting of restrictions on importing and exporting non-lethal defense equipment to and from Cyprus.   The US State Department said, in a statement, reported by the American (Al-Hurra) channel, that the two sides stressed the importance of the security partnership between them, during a phone call made by Mike Pompeo with Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades.

The United States imposed an arms embargo on the entire island of Cyprus in 1987 with the aim of preventing an arms race there and encouraging the Greek majority and the Turkish minority to reach a peace settlement.

He pointed out that the authorities tighten the procedures for prosecution and trial when it comes to suspects belonging to Kurdistan and Gulen, while the release of suspects with links to "ISIS" is often due to insufficient evidence. In some cases, he added, courts offer copies of accusations that are copies of previous cases, to the point that sometimes they have nothing to do with the current case.
