From Hollywood to Dubai: The emirate's landmarks shine in Jack Ryan's new film
Amazon MGM announced the launch of the new Tom Clancy's film, "Jack Ryan: Ghost Wars," in Dubai, in collaboration with the Dubai Media Council and with the support of the Department of Economy and Tourism. This move enhances the emirate's position as a leading destination for media production and contributes to introducing audiences around the world to its most prominent landmarks and famous destinations.
The film is one of the latest joint entertainment projects led by the department to support the growth and development of the creative economy in the emirate. The film was shot in cooperation with the Dubai Media Council and the Dubai Film Development Committee, which was established under the umbrella of the Dubai Media Council to support the growth and development of the film sector. The film was launched on the Prime Video platform.
The film was shot in early 2025 and is the latest addition to the Jack Ryan film series, known for its exciting stories and spy adventures that take place in a number of the most prominent cities and locations around the world.
Dubai stands out in the film with its distinctive character, thanks to its unique blend of the city's striking panoramic view, its diverse landmarks, and its advanced infrastructure, which are strong supporting elements for film production. The film stars John Krasinski, along with a host of other stars, including Sienna Miller, who recently joined the series, as well as Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly, who co-starred with Krasinski in the four seasons of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan on the Prime Video platform.

Al Marri added: “These high-quality projects, such as the film (Tom Clancy’s: Jack Ryan - Ghost War), represent an important opportunity to enhance Dubai’s global presence through major cinematic works, which contributes to highlighting the emirate’s cultural, tourism and creative assets, and at the same time supports the growth of the creative economy and the development of the media sector in line with Dubai’s future goals and its vision to be one of the world’s leading capitals for media and content creation.”

The Dubai Film Industry Development Committee, chaired by Issam Kazim, continues to work on facilitating filming procedures, providing production requirements, and coordinating between government agencies and industry partners, to ensure that international productions are carried out efficiently and smoothly in Dubai. The committee was formed at the beginning of this year, under the umbrella of the Dubai Media Council, to play a pivotal role in supporting filming operations throughout the emirate, and enhancing Dubai’s position as a leading global destination for film and media production.
Prominent names
The film is overseen by a group of prominent names in the film industry, which adds great artistic value to the work and also to the city. The film is directed by the famous director Andrew Bernstein, while John Krasinski and Alison Seger of Sunday Night Productions, along with Andrew Form, are producing. The film was produced in cooperation with Paramount Pictures and Skydance, while David Ellison and Dana Goldberg of Skydance are executive producers, along with John Kelly and Carlton Keynes. It is based on the works of the late novelist Tom Clancy, and the screenplay was written by Aaron Rabin and John Krasinski, while the story was prepared by Noah Oppenheim and John Krasinski.
Dubai, one of five cities featured in the film, provided a distinctive addition to the production thanks to its vibrant filming locations, highly experienced local talent, and advanced support and production services, reinforcing its position as one of the preferred destinations for hosting major international film productions.

The list of destinations and locations featured in the film "Tom Clancy's: Jack Ryan - Ghost War" includes the Dubai Marina area with its distinctive views of traditional wooden ships, Al Seef area, the One&Only One Za'abeel Hotel, as well as picturesque desert locations, the Emirates Towers, Gate Avenue in the Dubai International Financial Centre, and Burj Park.
It is worth noting that the filming of the movie scenes in Dubai was supported by the Dubai Media Council, the Dubai Film Industry Development Commission, Dubai Police, the Roads and Transport Authority, Dubai Municipality, Emirates Airlines, as well as several private sector institutions.
