America sends forces to Libya to protect it from Turkish terrorism

Washington's position in Libya appeared clear and direct, through messages sent by the US State Department, calling for a ceasefire, the dismantling of militias, and the return of the two parties to the conflict to the negotiating table, with the aim of reaching a political solution, so is Ankara aware of these messages?

The American messages are consistent with the tenets of the Arab position, which was affirmed by the meeting of Arab foreign ministers, and are also consistent with the decisions of international legitimacy, the outcomes of the Berlin Conference and the Cairo Declaration, and European positions rejecting the Turkish expansion in Libya, which puts Ankara in trouble, amid noticeable confusion in its foreign policy regarding Libya.

The former Assistant Foreign Minister of Egypt, Ambassador Hussein Haridi, believes that the US State Department’s statements come after accusations made by Ankara against Washington, of not taking a decisive stance in Libya, while the US State Department’s statement represents a response to these allegations, and expresses a decisive position on the US administration.

The American warning is clear. Washington’s position now is to support not attacking Sirte and Jufrah, with a ceasefire, and the start of direct negotiations, with the aim of reaching a political solution. Therefore, any party in the Libyan equation will not abide by these steps, will be exposed to a strong American position.
