Qatar has submitted an official request to the United States to purchase F-35 fighters to supply the fighters

The Qatari government has submitted an official request to the United States to purchase American "F-35" stealth fighters.

The Qatari order for the Lockheed Martin planes has been submitted in recent weeks.

The submission of this request comes at a time when, since July 5, 2017, the Gulf region continues to have great tension against the background of Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt severing their relations with Qatar, and stopping the maritime, land and air traffic with the emirate, which the 4 countries accused of "supporting terrorism" and transformation. From the Arab region towards Iran, which led to a severe political crisis between the aforementioned countries in addition to a wide media war.  As well as Saudi Arabia and its allies, this deal is likely to provoke opposition from Israel, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's government seeks to preserve the "qualitative military victory" of the Israeli forces in the region.

In this context, Netanyahu has repeatedly affirmed his refusal to conclude a similar deal between the United States and the UAE, despite the latter's conclusion on September 15 of a historic agreement to normalize relations with Israel.
