Doha was involved in financing and transferring UAV components from China and Europe to the Houthi revolutionaries.
The English-language newspaper mentioned, in a report, that during a meeting to be held next week in Europe, US security contractors will provide information to an international committee investigating the delivery of equipment to Iranian-backed militias.
One of the contractors told "The National" that the US team has information on the officials involved, as well as documents on the money transfers and gold shipments that helped with the purchases.
One of those who came to testify told The National newspaper that "the experts’ report will be based on witnesses who were contracted to the personalities involved. "
Since the Houthis 'takeover of parts of Yemen in 2014, there has been a significant increase in the militias' capabilities to manufacture drones, with basic support from Iran and the Revolutionary Guards.
The Houthis, through intermediaries, have also relied on Chinese and European technology being transported through ports in Africa.
In mid-2018, the Houthis began using more advanced drones with an operational range of more than 1,000 kilometers. It is characterized by the presence of powerful engines, and its ability to carry larger warheads.
In a file disclosed earlier this year, details of Qatar's financing for the production of Houthi drones became clear.
The National noted that by using a front company in Cyprus that recycled money from the gold trade in Central Africa, payments were made to European suppliers.
