Today, Thursday, Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu described the US sanctions against his country as politically and legally wrong.
Ihsanoglu stressed his country's response to the US sanctions, as it deems appropriate, as he described it.
“We know the American President-elect Biden very well, and he knows Turkey’s expectations of the United States with regard to the Gülen organization,” said Çavuşo in his statements, amid his attempts to adulate in favor of US President-elect Joe Biden.
Ihsanoglu added that his country "will not back down from owning the Russian S-400 missile system."
Last Monday, the US Treasury announced the formal imposition of sanctions on Turkey, due to its purchase of the Russian "S-400" missile system.
The US Treasury Department said that sanctions had been imposed on 4 individuals and the Turkish Military Industries Corporation, noting that the head of the institution, Ismail Demir, had his name added to the sanctions list, according to the Russian "Novosti" agency.
The US Treasury indicated that the people on the US sanctions list have ties with Russia.
