UAE Foreign Minister Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan discussed, with a number of foreign ministers of countries participating in the work of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, a number of issues of common interest and developments at the regional and international levels.
The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs met with his Irish counterpart, Michael Martin, and Bakhtiyar Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, where he discussed with the two ministers a number of issues on the agenda of the United Nations General Assembly, in addition to bilateral cooperation in several fields, including economic, trade, investment, cultural, educational, agricultural, technology and food security. The discussions also touched on the climate file, and the importance of investing in this international platform to mobilize international efforts to confront the repercussions of climate change, especially with the Climate Ambition Summit being held on the sidelines of the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan briefed the foreign ministers on the UAE’s preparations to host the twenty-eighth session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP28) during the coming months of November and December at Expo Dubai.
