Jennifer Lopez Combined a Gen Z-Approved Trend With a Millennial Classic

Oversized baggy pants and a button-up cardigan is pretty much the quintessential uniform of Gen Z, and Jennifer Lopez just took the trend out for a spin over the weekend. The multi-hyphenate, however, did put a millennial twist on the look: the trousers were belted and high-waisted.

On Sunday, Lopez was spotted grabbing some lunch in West Hollywood in the sand-colored, paper-bag slacks and a beige cardigan with a V-neckline and bell sleeves. The singer went a more classic route with her accessories with oversized circular sunnies, silver hoops, and a mini Himalayan Hermès Birkin. Ivory-colored sandals peeked out from under the floor-grazing slacks.

Lopez's caramel-colored hair was blown out to perfection and styled in a middle part with curtain bangs.

Lopez has been a fan of the baggy pant lately. Just last week, the star was spotted in super capacious jeans with oversized pockets, which she styled with a turtleneck sweater, white sneakers, and her go-to oversized sunglasses.

The very next day, Lopez was seen wearing more generously roomy denim. The jeans were distressed and made to look muddy, and she styled them with khaki-colored R-13 platform boots, a tan sweater, and a massive black Birkin. Once again her signature shades and hoops combo completed the ensemble.

Lopez is a fashion icon, so naturally, the performer is gearing up to co-chair the 2024 Met Gala next week (on the first Monday in May). While speaking with Vogue earlier this month, Lopez said it is an "honor" to be a part of fashion's biggest night.

"When Anna [Wintour] calls you and asks you to co-host the Met Gala along with her, it's kinda the biggest night in fashion, and to raise money for the museum, it was a real honor," she said. "It's a nice thing to be a part of."

When it comes to her look for the big night, Lopez herself hasn't even fully decided yet. This year's theme, however, is "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion," so, Internet, do with that as you will.

"I have a few different sketches. I'm still deciding. I'm also one of those people who chooses at the last minute," she explained. "Like, I like choices, and then I go, 'Okay, this is how I feel today,' and then we try to kinda create some type of amazing look—because that is the night for looks!"
