 Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology Explores Cooperation with the University of Liverpool

The Sharjah Academy for Astronomy, Space Sciences and Technology discussed ways to enhance cooperation with a delegation from the University of Liverpool, UK. The discussions focused on potential collaboration in the fields of medicine, engineering, artificial intelligence, educational technology, and social sciences, in addition to launching initiatives for academic exchange and joint research projects addressing shared scientific and societal challenges.


The meeting took place during the University of Liverpool delegation’s visit to the Academy, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in higher education and scientific research. The visit also coincides with the establishment of the Sharjah Council for Higher Education and Scientific Research, which aims to advance the educational and research landscape in the Emirate.


The meeting was attended by H.E. Dr. Hamid M.K. Al Naimiy, Advisor to the Chancellor of the University of Sharjah, Director of the Academy, and member of the Council’s Permanent Executive Committee, along with other committee members. Also present were H.E. Dr. Muhadditha Al Hashimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Private Education Authority and President of Sharjah Education Academy, and Dr. Mohammed Yousif Baniyas, Higher Education Advisor at the Authority. They explored prospects for academic and scientific collaboration between higher education institutions in Sharjah and the University of Liverpool.


The University of Liverpool delegation was headed by Dr. Paul Lunn, Dean of the School of Veterinary Science, and included a number of specialized academic staff.


The delegation was briefed on the latest technologies and advanced models in the fields of space and astronomy, and visited the Sharjah Planetarium, where they experienced an innovative educational presentation.
