Tom Cruise Reunites with Brad Pitt After Three Decades
Global star Tom Cruise made a surprise appearance at the European premiere of F1: The Movie, starring fellow actor Brad Pitt, in London.
Cruise joined Pitt on the red carpet, and the two icons posed together for photos — a long-awaited reunion 31 years in the making. The last time the duo shared the screen was in 1994’s gothic classic Interview with the Vampire, directed by Neil Jordan.
In a recent interview with E! News, Brad Pitt expressed interest in working with Cruise again. However, he joked about Cruise’s high-adrenaline antics, saying, “Well, I won’t be hanging off airplanes or anything like that. So when he does something grounded, then yes, I’m in.”
In F1: The Movie, Pitt, now 61, plays fictional Formula 1 driver Sonny Hayes. Remarkably, this marks his first time driving a real F1 car on a race track, in partnership with Apple Originals.
Meanwhile, the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced that Tom Cruise will receive an honorary Oscar this year in recognition of his lifetime achievements — spanning from Risky Business to the Top Gun films and beyond.
Director Joseph Kosinski, who has worked with both actors, compared their styles in an interview with GQ. He said, “Tom is always pushing boundaries and has incredible skill. Both are natural leaders, but Tom can be terrifying. He overdoes things — it scares me. I’ve worked on many Mission: Impossible films with him, and it’s exhausting.”
He added, “Brad, on the other hand, listens and knows his limits. He’d be the first to say, ‘Yeah, I’m not doing that.’”
F1: The Movie is set to hit theaters on June 27, 2025.
