UAE Reinforces Global Innovation Leadership at WIPO Meetings in Geneva
The United Arab Emirates reaffirmed its commitment to innovation and intellectual property (IP) excellence during recent WIPO meetings in Geneva. Dr. Essa Al Bastaki, President of the UAE Scientific Club, emphasized the country's holistic approach to fostering innovation—highlighting educational programs and outreach targeting students, inventors, and researchers.
The UAE has built a robust legislative framework for IP, updating patent, trademark, and copyright laws in line with global standards. Specialized IP courts ensure timely and fair resolutions.
Innovation remains at the heart of the UAE's national agenda, through initiatives like the “Advanced National Innovation Strategy” and “UAE Vision 2031.” With accelerators, incubators, and digital platforms enabling patent registrations and AI-powered IP services, the UAE continues to cultivate a future-ready knowledge economy.
Through active cooperation with WIPO, including MoUs, capacity-building workshops, and tech transfer initiatives, the UAE strengthens its role as a global innovation hub.
