Abu Dhabi Agriculture Achieves First Global AI Certification in the Agricultural Sector
In a groundbreaking achievement, the Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) has received the ISO 42001:2023 certification — the world’s first international standard for artificial intelligence management systems — making it the first entity globally in the agricultural sector to do so.
This milestone reflects the commitment of ADAFSA and the UAE’s leadership to embracing cutting-edge technologies in alignment with the UAE’s AI Strategy 2031 and Abu Dhabi’s digital transformation vision. According to Saeed Al Ameri, Acting Director General of ADAFSA, the achievement is the result of strong leadership support, a highly specialized team, and collaboration with key stakeholders.
The certification not only reinforces the Authority’s leading role in sustainable agriculture , food security, and digital transformation but also strengthens public trust in its operations and showcases its model of excellence — locally, regionally, and globally.
The UAE continues to play an active role in shaping global AI standards as a member of the ISO AI expert group since 2020, further positioning the country as a pioneer in responsible and innovative AI governance.
