Dubai Debuts First Middle East Government Pavilion at Gamescom 2025

Dubai is set to make history at Gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany, by unveiling the first-ever government pavilion from the Middle East at the world’s largest gaming event.

Within an impressively short timeframe, Dubai has positioned itself as a rising global hub for the gaming industry. The emirate is home to over 350 companies operating in gaming and related sectors, with 260—representing 74%—specializing in game development. Additionally, 67% of these companies have chosen Dubai as their primary headquarters, while 12% are global technology giants.

Gamescom is the premier global event for computer and video games, bringing together the international gaming community both physically and digitally. Scheduled from August 20 to 24, 2025, this year’s edition is expected to see record-breaking attendance. The Latin America edition in May 2025 attracted more than 130,000 visitors, 3,000 industry experts, and over 200 game publishers—setting a high bar for the main event in Cologne.

Dubai’s participation is a strategic step toward strengthening its presence in the global gaming economy, attracting investment, and fostering innovation in one of the world’s fastest-growing entertainment sectors.
