UAE President and Russian President Discuss Strengthening Strategic Partnership in Moscow
During an official visit to Moscow, the President of the United Arab Emirates met with the President of the Russian Federation to discuss ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the two nations.
The discussions built upon the UAE’s Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) — which includes Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. The agreement provides a dedicated framework for cooperation with Russia, focusing on services and investments in key sectors such as fintech, healthcare, transportation, logistics, and professional services.
In addition, UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, H.E. Suhail bin Mohammed Al Mazrouei, and Russian Minister of Transport, H.E. Andrey Nikitin, signed a Memorandum of Understanding on land transport cooperation.
The talks were attended by senior Emirati officials including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; H.E. Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Adviser to the UAE President; H.E. Ali bin Hammad Al Shamsi, Secretary-General of the Supreme National Security Council; H.E. Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; and several other high-ranking ministers and advisers.
From the Russian side, several ministers and senior officials participated in the session.
The visit concluded with the UAE President’s departure from Moscow, accompanied by a ceremonial escort of Russian military aircraft as a mark of respect.
