The President and Prime Minister of Georgia discuss strengthening cooperation within the framework of the comprehensive economic partnership between the two countries.
His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, may God protect him, and His Excellency Irakli Kobakhidze, Prime Minister of Georgia, discussed today ways to develop cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of investment, economy, renewable energy, sustainability and other vital aspects of common interest within their development plans, within the framework of the comprehensive economic partnership agreement that unites the two countries.
This came during His Highness’s meeting today – at the Zayed National Museum – with the Georgian Prime Minister, who is on a working visit to the country during which he is participating in “Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week”, which began yesterday.
The meeting touched on the importance of "AbuDhabi Sustainability Week" in promoting dialogue and exchanging visions to find paths that contribute to accelerating the transition towards a sustainable economy and a new phase of growth, prosperity and development that includes everyone.
In this context, both sides affirmed their shared interest in expanding the base of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the areas of sustainability, in a way that serves development priorities and achieves their common interests. They expressed their hope that the coming period will witness further development in Emirati-Georgian relations, given the availability of many elements that enhance these aspirations.
The two sides also exchanged views on a number of issues and topics of common interest, foremost among them efforts to promote the causes of peace and security in the region and the world, as they are the main pillar for achieving growth and prosperity for societies.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of ministers and senior state officials.
