The President of the State discusses with the President of Ecuador strengthening cooperation relations 

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Excellency Daniel Noboa, President of the Republic of Ecuador, discussed today various aspects of bilateral relations and ways to enhance them, especially in developmental fields, including the economy, trade, renewable energy, investment, sustainability, food security, and other areas that serve their mutual interests and bring good and prosperity to their people.

This came during the reception of His Highness the President of the State - at Al Bahr Palace in Abu Dhabi - of the President of Ecuador, who is on a working visit to the UAE.

Both sides affirmed their shared commitment to advancing development relations between the UAE and Ecuador to broader horizons in the coming period and to capitalize on all available opportunities in this regard. His Highness noted in this context that relations between the UAE and Ecuador began more than five decades ago and are witnessing remarkable development, especially in development fields.

During the meeting, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan affirmed that the UAE is keen to strengthen its economic partnerships with Latin American countries and has taken important and qualitative steps in this direction over the past years, and continues to develop our development partnerships with the countries of the region for common prosperity.

The two sides also reviewed a number of regional and international issues of common interest, stressing the importance of working to promote peace and stability in the region and the world and to resolve conflicts through dialogue and diplomatic action for the benefit of all.

For his part, the President of Ecuador expressed his thanks and appreciation to His Highness the President of the State for his interest in raising the relations between the two countries to broader horizons, stressing that his country is keen to advance cooperation, especially economic and investment cooperation with the UAE, in a way that serves their mutual interests.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, a number of ministers and senior officials, and the delegation accompanying the visiting president.

His Highness the President of the State and His Excellency the President of Ecuador also witnessed the announcement of a statement regarding the conclusion of negotiations on the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between the two countries. It was exchanged by Her Excellency Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemi, Minister of State for International Cooperation, with His Excellency Luis Alberto, Minister of Production, Foreign Trade and Investment. In addition, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company “ADNOC” and “Petro Ecuador”. It was exchanged by His Excellency Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and Her Excellency Maria Diaz, Minister of Environment and Energy of Ecuador.
