The President of the State receives the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund


His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, discussed today the cooperation relations between the UAE and the Fund and opportunities to enhance them to drive sustainable development and contribute to strengthening the economic growth of societies.

This came during His Highness’s reception at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi of Her Excellency Kristalina Georgieva, who is visiting the country to participate in the “World Government Summit 2026” which will be launched in Dubai next Tuesday.

The two sides also reviewed a number of issues and topics of common interest. His Highness stressed the importance of strengthening constructive international cooperation to find innovative solutions that serve the future of societies and countries and contribute to confronting global economic challenges. His Highness pointed out that the UAE is a key partner in efforts aimed at strengthening the global economy through its adoption of economic visions and policies that support sustainable growth and keep pace with global changes.

The meeting also touched on the importance of the World Government Summit as a global platform that brings together thought leaders, decision-makers and stakeholders from around the world to exchange experiences and visions aimed at addressing challenges and building a sustainable global economy.

The meeting was attended by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Court, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler’s Representative in the Al Dhafra Region, His Highness Sheikh Falah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Head of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor to His Highness the President of the State, and a number of sheikhs, ministers and senior officials.
