The UAE takes combating desertification and preserving its environment seriously! The Ministry of Climate Change and Environment implemented the country's first national strategy to fight desertification in 2003 and updated it in 2014. This includes rehabilitating and reforestation efforts using native plants and trees to combat salinity. Efforts have expanded regionally and globally, tackling the root causes of desertification and transforming barren lands into agriculture.
