Jeremy Renner Shared a Look at His Dumbbell Workout

JEREMY RENNER IS coming back stronger. The actor has spent the last year recovering from life-threatening injuries sustained during a snow plow accident, but appears to have turned a corner lately: he made an appearance at the People's Choice Awards on February 18, where he received a rapturous standing ovation and thanked his fans for their continued support.

And the Hawkeye and Mayor of Kingstown star remains committed to building back the strength and fitness he lost while recuperating, as evidenced by his latest Instagram Story. Renner shared an update on his progress in the photo, in which he can be seen working out with a pair of dumbbells in his basement gym.

"Putting in the work," he wrote in the post. "One way street here, get better everyday."

Renner suffered more than 30 broken bones after being crushed by a snow plow in the driveway of his home in Nevada on January 1, 2023. He was airlifted to a hospital where he was admitted in critical condition, and underwent several surgeries to repair the damage.

The road to recovery has been a long one, and Renner has kept his fans in the loop, sharing glimpses of the daily physical rehab process on social media, including walking on a treadmill, and then moving around unassisted by a walking frame. Then, at the start of 2024, a whole year after the accident, Renner returned to work, beginning filming on the third season of Mayor of Kingstown. But he admits that his confidence has been shaken by his recent experiences.

"I don't know if I'm looking forward to it," he told People. "Again, I try to just do everything kind of step by step here. That's one foot in front of the other one. Then you're walking, I think I'm excited when I'm there and I get in a rhythm there... I'm excited about the character and, of course, all the people involved and all that in the storyline, but for me, I'm just tentative of confidence in work."
