UAE to Introduce Artificial Intelligence into Public School Curricula.

The new curriculum will cover all levels from kindergarten to grade 12.
The United Arab Emirates plans to integrate artificial intelligence (AI) into to curricula of public schools starting from the next academic year, as part of its efforts to become a regional leader in the development of AI technologies.
According to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) , the new curriculum will be implemented in the 2025–2026 academic year and will include all educational stages, from kindergarten through grade 12. The curriculum will feature fundamental concepts and practical applications of AI, along with ethical awareness related to its use.
With this initiative, the UAE joins a growing number of countries seeking to incorporate AI into school education. Last month, Beijing announced a similar step to introduce AI education for primary and secondary school students in China.
The UAE has heavily invested in data centers used to train AI models and has established an AI investment fund, which, according to informed sources, may exceed $100 billion in the coming years. Sam Altman, CEO of Open AI, stated last year that the UAE could serve as a “global regulatory sandbox” to test AI technologies and potentially lead the development of international AI regulations.
Meanwhile, the United States is reportedly considering easing restrictions on Nvidia’s sales to the UAE ahead of an expected visit by U.S. President Donald Trump in mid-May.
This move could enhance the UAE’s position in the regional AI race. Trump’s Middle East tour will also include Saudi Arabia and Qatar.
Previously, the UAE announced plans to invest up to $1.4 trillion over the next decade in sectors such as energy, semiconductors, AI infrastructure, and manufacturing in the United States.
