In the presence of Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid, the Technology Innovation Institute and the World Economic Forum announce the launch of the "Abu Dhabi Center for Advanced Technology" in Davos.


 Davos The Technology Innovation Institute, the applied research arm of the Advanced Technology Research Council, in collaboration with the World Economic Forum, said that the AbuDhabi Centre for Advanced Technologies joining enhances the ability of the global network of Fourth Industrial Revolution Centres to contribute to shaping the global technology agenda. He explained that bringing world-class research capabilities into this network would support different sectors in transforming innovation into practical and responsible solutions that promote inclusivity and sustainability and build trust in technology.

The signing took place in the presence of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of the Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, His Excellency Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and member of the World Economic Forum's Executive Board, Børge Brende, President and CEO of the World Economic Forum (Davos), and Larry Fink, Chairman of BlackRock and Interim Co-Chair of the World Economic Forum's Executive Board.

The center aims to lead qualitative achievements in advanced research and development, contribute to shaping global policies for emerging technologies, and promote international cooperation that transforms innovation from research ideas into practical solutions, based on the UAE’s role as a leading destination for testing innovations.

With its flexible regulatory framework and effective integration of research, decision-making and implementation, the UAE provides an exceptional platform for testing, deploying and scaling up emerging technologies at the national level, an advantage that will be amplified through the World Economic Forum’s global network of Fourth Industrial Revolution centers.

The new center also places Abu Dhabi at the forefront of the global landscape for pioneering research in advanced technology, with a particular focus on quantum computing, robotics, propulsion systems, space and related artificial intelligence applications. Through this strategic partnership, the Technology Innovation Institute joins a global, interconnected innovation ecosystem aimed at accelerating the responsible adoption of transformative technology.

With the announcement of the new center, Abu Dhabi is cementing the UAE’s position within the World Economic Forum’s Global Fourth Industrial Revolution Centers Network, joining a distinguished network that includes centers in the United States, Germany, Saudi Arabia, Japan and India.

The center aims to expand the horizons of research and development in vitally important advanced technologies, while highlighting Abu Dhabi’s intellectual leadership through pilot projects to prove the concept, regulatory testing environments and global gatherings. The center also constitutes a strategic platform and engine for innovation, contributing to accelerating the responsible adoption of modern technology and consolidating the UAE’s presence on the global stage in the fields of science and innovation
