A new Emirati mediation effort between Russia and Ukraine 

succeeds in releasing 410 prisoners.

The United Arab Emirates announced the success of its mediation efforts between the Russian Federation and the Republic of Ukraine in completing a new exchange operation that included 205 prisoners from the Russian side and 205 prisoners from the Ukrainian side, bringing the total number of prisoners exchanged between the two countries in these mediations to 7,101 prisoners

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its gratitude to the two friendly countries for their cooperation in the success of the UAE mediation efforts, which reflects their confidence and appreciation for the UAE’s keenness to support all efforts aimed at resolving the crisis between the two countries.

The ministry stated that with the success of this mediation, the total number of Emirati mediations that took place during the crisis has reached 23, which stem from the distinguished relations that unite the UAE with both the Russian Federation and Ukraine.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed that the UAE will continue its efforts to support various endeavors to reach a peaceful solution to the conflict in Ukraine and to alleviate the humanitarian effects of the crisis, such as refugees and prisoners.

In this context, the Russian Ministry of Defense said that the United Arab Emirates mediated an exchange of prisoners of war between Moscow and Kyiv on Friday, which included 205 prisoners from each side.
