The Professional Footballers' Association announces nominees for the Premier League Player of the Year award



The Professional Footballers' Association has announced the nomination of several Premier League stars for the Player of the Year award.


Arsenal's David Raya, Gabriel and Declan Rice are competing with Manchester City's Erling Haaland and Ryan Cherki, along with Manchester United's Bruno Fernandes, for the award.


Raya, the Arsenal goalkeeper, had a fantastic season and played a major role in the Gunners winning the English Premier League title, finishing the season with 19 clean sheets, winning the Golden Glove award for the third time in a row, and winning the Best Save award in December.


Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Gabriel played a key role in his team’s Premier League victory, alongside Declan Rice, who played in different positions, scoring 5 goals and making 9 assists, and contributing greatly both defensively and offensively through set pieces.


Haaland has become a contender for the Premier League Golden Boot for the third time in four seasons, scoring 27 goals in 35 games, 8 goals in the Champions League, 3 in the FA Cup, and 9 assists in all competitions.


Ryan Cherki was highly praised for his first season after scoring 10 goals and providing 15 assists in 52 games.


Bruno Fernandes led Manchester United to third place in the English Premier League and qualification for the Champions League, scoring 8 goals and breaking the record for the number of assists in a single season in the tournament with 21 assists.


Liverpool's Rio Ngomoha, Manchester City's Rayan Cherki, Arsenal's Max Duman, Bournemouth's Junior Croubey, Manchester United's Kobe Maino and Manchester City's Nico O'Reilly are competing for the Young Player of the Year award, with the winner to be announced on August 25.
