Her Excellency Dbravka Soica, Vice-President of the European Commission for Democracy and Demography, said that the European Union is seeking a close partnership with the UAE on the implementation of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the empowerment of women and youth, and the protection of children.
In exclusive statements to the Emirates News Agency, WAM, during her participation in Expo 2020 Dubai, the European official praised the efforts of the UAE in taking "very concrete measures" and ensuring the enforcement of the law on child abuse.The Wadima Law has goals very similar to the EU's strategy on child protection, noting that within the EU issues of inequality and socio-economic exclusion are being effectively dealt with with a commitment to help lift children and their families out of poverty.
