The UAE has booked its position in a list of only 4 countries in the world whose residents, without exception, have the ability to afford a healthy diet, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations.

In a recent report entitled "The State of Food Security and Nutrition in the World 2022", the organization indicated that the estimated cost of a healthy diet in the UAE ranged between 2017 and 2020 from 2.7 to 3.1 dollars per day, while the list included Switzerland and Iceland. and Azerbaijan.

The report emphasized that healthy dietary patterns are based on a large group of unprocessed or minimally processed foods that are balanced between food groups, and include whole grains, legumes, and nut varieties, and an abundant and varied amount of fruits and vegetables; It can include moderate amounts of eggs, dairy products, poultry and fish, and small amounts of red meat.

Dubai has taken the top spots globally in the areas of obtaining food security and the capacity of community members to obtain healthy eating patterns. This is because the system of policies and initiatives implemented on the ground much exceeds the set of procedures mentioned in the report.
