 His Majesty The leader of the delegation representing the UAE at the 27th Conference of the States Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change was Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the State's President (COP27).

During the opening session of the "Climate Summit" as part of the work of the 27th session of the Conference of the States Parties, His Highness endorsed the Egyptian President's call to work to resolve the Ukrainian crisis in order to achieve peace, security, and stability in the world. Also present were a number of state heads, presidents, and governments from around the world.

 UAE's founding father explained that the nation's oil and gas are among the least carbon-intensive in the world and that efforts are being made to further reduce emissions in this crucial sector. Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to ensuring energy security while reducing emissions.

His Highness stated that the UAE made the first regional announcement of its strategic initiative to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. He also spoke about the recently formed partnership between the US and the UAE, which seeks to boost climate action and strengthen energy security by investing $100 billion
