Dubai Municipality won the “Best Technology Application in Government” category at the Future Projects Awards 2023, one of the most important awards in the field of information technology industry in the United Arab Emirates and the Middle East, awarded by CPI MEDIA GROUP. The award reflects Dubai Municipality's commitment and keenness to build digital and competitive work systems, and employ the latest technologies within qualitative initiatives that develop the levels of its services, and contribute to enhancing the vision of the Emirate of Dubai to be the best city to live and work in the world.
The municipality was crowned with the award for its initiative in applying the best practices for managing emergency and crisis operations in its “Command and Control Center”, which serves as the main platform for managing and following up all its operations at the emirate level, as its tasks focus on rapid response to crises and emergencies in order to address them and facilitate decision-making. Immediately to the leadership team in the municipality, according to a sophisticated and high-level mechanism, and by following the best and latest technologies and methods of geospatial analysis.
The initiative aimed to use the best technologies and systems in managing the operations of the “Command and Control Center,” and to enhance the response system and full readiness for all emergency and crisis operations, through the optimal use of available resources and systems. This initiative contributed to enhancing the center's response to all relevant emergency cases by 100%.
