Sheikh Sultan approves nearly Dhs50m for people affected by rain
His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved exceptional support to assist those affected by the rain and floods who do not meet the criteria for receiving aid.
This support will benefit 1,806 cases, amounting to nearly Dhs50 million .
The aim of this support is to help those affected by the weather system that caused damage to citizens' homes in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The support includes a one-time assistance payment of Dhs25,000 for 1,568 cases of homeowners whose properties suffered leaks or external damage.
Additionally, the minimum support for the affected individuals has been raised to Dhs50,000 for 117 cases.
The support also covers 83 cases of affected individuals holding property outside the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as 38 cases of homeowners who received their new homes this year but had not yet moved in when the weather system impacted their furnishings and equipment.
This support aims to alleviate the burden on families to prepare and maintain their homes anew.
The Social Services Department will reassess and categorize the cases that were previously denied, implementing the exceptions directed by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
It is also necessary for families to take precautionary measures to avoid and minimize the impact of rain on their homes through regular preventive maintenance.
