Dubai Hosts Global Press Conference to Announce "K 2025" Exhibition in Germany
Dubai hosted an international press conference to announce the launch of the K 2025 Exhibition, the world’s largest event dedicated to plastics, rubber, and recycling industries. The exhibition is set to take place in Düsseldorf, Germany, from October 8 to 15, 2025, highlighting the UAE’s global standing as a leading industrial and investment hub.
The conference was held at the Inter Continental Dubai Festival City, with the attendance of an official delegation from the event’s organizer, Messe Düsseldorf, alongside senior executives and representatives from major industrial entities in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. The strong Gulf participation reflects the region’s growing industrial capabilities.
K 2025 will feature over 3,000 exhibitors from around the world, including more than 10 UAE-based companies such as EnerPlastics, SRG Global Multi Trade Group, and others. Over 10 major Saudi companies, led by petrochemical giant SABIC, are also set to participate. The event is expected to attract more than 180,000 visitors from 167 countries, continuing the impressive global and Arab attendance seen in the previous edition, reaffirming the exhibition’s status as a premier platform for industrial technology and innovation.
Petra Cullmann: Dubai’s Selection Reflects Global Confidence in UAE’s Industrial Standing
Petra Cullmann, Executive Director of Messe Düsseldorf, expressed her pride in the strong partnership with Dubai. She emphasized that choosing Dubai as a key stop in the K 2025 promotional tour reflects global confidence in the UAE as a leading industrial and commercial destination.
Cullmann stated: “We are proud of our strong ties with our partners in Dubai. Germany maintains a significant presence at ArabPlast, the regional exhibition for plastics, recycling, and petrochemicals. We’ve witnessed strong support from UAE and Gulf entities that are keen on fostering effective international partnerships in this growing sector.”
According to data from the Gulf Petrochemicals and Chemicals Association (GPCA), Gulf countries produce over 35 million tons of plastic annually—accounting for 15% of global production—with around 85% exported to international markets.
The sector generates over $100 billion in revenue and provides more than 160,000 direct jobs. Recycling rates in the region are projected to increase by 9.3% in the coming year, further strengthening the Gulf’s position as a global hub for sustainable industries.
K 2025 will be held under the theme: “The Power of Plastics: Green – Smart – Responsible”, focusing on three main pillars: circular economy, digital transformation, and social responsibility. The event will also feature interactive platforms like the VDMA Forum and the special show “Plastics Shape the Future”, offering a vital space for industry leaders to exchange knowledge, build strategic partnerships, and explore cutting-edge innovations.
K 2025 serves as a strategic platform to highlight Gulf and global leadership in critical industrial sectors while reinforcing the region’s role in supporting global supply chains and driving a shift toward a sustainable circular economy.
