On Thursday, May 15, U.S. President Donald Trump arrived in the United Arab Emirates, the third stop on his tour of the Arabian Gulf. He traveled to the UAE from Doha, following a visit to Saudi Arabia.

Trump was received by UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed at Zayed International Airport in the capital, Abu Dhabi. Later, the U.S. president headed to Qasr Al Watan to hold talks with his Emirati counterpart.

Here are the key developments from Day Three of Trump’s Gulf tour:

The White House announced Thursday that Trump had secured new deals with the UAE worth $200 billion, including the acceleration of previously pledged Emirati investments totaling $1.4 trillion.

U.S. companies Boeing and General Electric received a $14.5 billion commitment from Etihad Airways for the purchase of 28 Boeing 787 and 777X aircraft, powered by GE engines.

A $60 billion partnership was revealed between ExxonMobil, Occidental Petroleum, and EOG Resources with Abu Dhabi’s ADNOC to expand oil and natural gas production.

The U.S. Department of Commerce announced an agreement to establish a new, comprehensive UAE–U.S. artificial intelligence center in Abu Dhabi with a 5-gigawatt capacity.

According to the department, the center will be the largest of its kind outside the United States and will involve major American companies and institutions.

The AI center will be built by the UAE’s G42 company and operated in partnership with several U.S. firms.

Additionally, the U.S. Department of the Treasury announced a UAE–U.S. agreement to fast-track a strategic framework for collaboration in the field of artificial intelligence.
