 Belgian Minister of Justice Commends UAE's Judicial Cooperation and Innovation


H.E. Abdullah bin Sultan Al Nuaimi, UAE Minister of Justice, and H.E. Annelies Verlinden, Belgian Minister of Justice, held a phone call following the arrival of a flight that transferred three wanted individuals from the UAE to Belgium.


Minister Verlinden praised the UAE's leading role in modernizing its justice system, highlighting its advanced model in promoting the rule of law, protecting rights and freedoms, and leveraging cutting-edge technologies in judicial services.


She emphasized the strong judicial ties between Belgium and the UAE, noting ongoing development through expert exchanges, MoUs, and joint workshops supporting the development of modern legal systems.


Additionally, the Belgian Minister commended the UAE’s efforts in combating organized crime, money laundering, and terrorism. She acknowledged that bilateral judicial coordination has been instrumental in dismantling criminal networks and facilitating extradition and recovery efforts.


Minister Verlinden added that EU countries, including Belgium, regard the UAE's use of advanced technology—such as digital courts and smart judicial services—as a leading example in enhancing judicial efficiency and speed.
