Queen Maxima of the Netherlands opened the 2026 Fashion Biennale in Arnhem, a major cultural event highlighting the future of the fashion industry and its relationship to sustainability.

This year’s event, titled “Available for Promise: Hidden Systems and a Shared Future,” runs until June 28, offering a diverse program that includes art exhibitions, research presentations, and specialized seminars discussing the challenges facing the fashion industry, primarily issues of sustainability, environmental justice, and social responsibility.

The event focuses on analyzing the invisible systems behind the clothing industry, from supply and production chains to consumption patterns and their impact on the environment and societies. It aims to present new visions for a more balanced future, based on innovation and respect for natural resources.

This forum is one of the most prominent European events that combines fashion, thought and culture, as it is not limited to displaying designs, but opens a wide discussion about the role that fashion can play in addressing contemporary global issues.
