The UAE government announces a strategic knowledge partnership with "Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence"


The UAE government announced the launch of a strategic knowledge partnership to empower government leaders and cadres in the fields of artificial assistance intelligence, with the “Mohammed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence”, with the aim of enhancing government readiness in developing and adopting artificial assistance intelligence, building capabilities, and responsible adoption of future technologies, in ministries and federal government entities, through executive education, and capacity building in artificial assistance intelligence.


The partnership agreement was signed in the presence of His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi, Minister of Cabinet Affairs and Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Artificial Intelligence Assistant Project, and His Excellency Khaldoon Al Mubarak, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence. It was signed by Her Excellency Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi, Minister of State for Government Development and the Future and Chairperson of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, and Professor Eric Zeng, President of Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence.


The agreement comes within the framework of the national program adopted by the Cabinet to develop the skills and capabilities of federal government employees in the field of artificial assistance intelligence (Agent AI), and includes training 80,000 employees from various job categories in the federal government to become experts in the field of artificial assistance intelligence through continuous specialized training, through cooperation with a number of leading national universities and technology companies specializing in this field.


His Excellency Mohammed Abdullah Al Gergawi affirmed that the UAE leadership places the Emirati citizen at the forefront of its development priorities, considering him the cornerstone of the comprehensive development process and the main driver of modernization efforts and positive change in government work and society.


He explained that the training programs and plans aimed at empowering government work teams with artificial intelligence assistance skills stem from a well-established governmental approach based on continuous learning and investment in building national capabilities, which enhances the efficiency of government personnel, raises the readiness of institutions to absorb future transformations, and ensures the sustainability of development and modernization of government work tools.


He pointed out that the UAE is moving according to a clear future vision aimed at consolidating its position as the best government in the world, through developing the government work system, improving the quality of services and procedures, enhancing the efficiency of human capital, and consolidating the highest levels of readiness for the future, which supports its leadership in global competitiveness indicators in various sectors.


For his part, His Excellency Khaldoon Khalifa Al Mubarak said that the announcement by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, may God protect him, of the launch of the largest government program to train 80,000 federal employees on assistive artificial intelligence technologies and tools, in addition to targeting the transformation of 50% of federal government services and sectors to rely on these technologies, is a pivotal step in the UAE’s journey towards its national strategy for artificial intelligence.


He added that since the founding of the UAE, our leadership has believed that human beings are the true wealth and the foundation of sustainable prosperity, and artificial intelligence comes to reinforce this principle. An AI-powered government is built beyond the technologies it possesses, and its success is based on human competence, trained minds, good governance, and the established values ​​of the government employees who guide it.


He said that as a strategic knowledge partner of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, Mohamed bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence continues to perform its national mission, employing the depth of its research and applied expertise in building the knowledge infrastructure of a world-leading government in the field of artificial intelligence, and its goal remains clear: to develop and disseminate artificial intelligence responsibly and comprehensively in service of our societies.


For her part, Her Excellency Ahoud Al Roumi affirmed that the strategic knowledge partnership between the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources and Mohamed Bin Zayed University of Artificial Intelligence translates the directives of the wise leadership to develop and adopt AI models to assist in the operations, procedures and services of the UAE government, and constitutes a model for knowledge partnerships between the government and leading national academic institutions, aimed at building capabilities, enhancing potential and providing government cadres with the knowledge and practical experience necessary to design and build the new generation of government work.


She said the partnership embodies the Authority’s commitment to translating the UAE government’s directions to build the capabilities of national cadres and develop government human capital, and reflects its continuous endeavor to contribute to enhancing government readiness for the future, with a focus on empowering cadres and talents.


Her Excellency indicated that the partnership will include all leadership and functional levels, covering the objectives of the largest program of its kind nationally to build the capabilities of more than 80,000 government employees in the field of artificial intelligence assistance.


The program adopts a practical learning model that focuses on developing, building, and managing AI-assisted models and employing them in developing government work, by providing government employees with a practical and applied understanding of AI-assisted solutions, including AI-driven transformation, responsible AI adoption, AI management and implementation requirements, and developing its practical uses in government work areas.


The program covers several leadership and functional levels, including executive capacity-building programs in the field of artificial intelligence for government leaders, and focuses on cooperation in supporting the UAE’s strategic directions to adopt assistive artificial intelligence in all areas of work and government services.
