His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, posted on his official account on the “X” platform an image showing recent data that showed the United Arab Emirates leading the world in rates of adoption and adoption of artificial intelligence technologies during the first quarter of 2026, according to the “Microsoft AI Demographics Report 2026” published by Middle East Economy magazine.
According to the report, the UAE came in first place globally with an adoption rate of 70%, seven percentage points ahead of Singapore, which came in second place with 63%. The remaining top positions were distributed among a number of major economies and technology clusters, including Norway, Ireland, France, Spain, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Qatar.
This pioneering achievement reflects the advanced position that the UAE has established in the field of digital transformation and artificial intelligence, as a result of a long-term strategic approach based on investing in advanced technology, developing digital infrastructure, creating a legislative and regulatory environment that supports innovation, in addition to expanding the use of artificial intelligence solutions in various vital sectors.
The report also highlights the growing Gulf and Arab presence in the race for future technologies, with Qatar ranking among the top ten countries globally, with an adoption rate of 42%, confirming the growing role of the region as a global center for investment in technology and innovation.
